Happy Holidays everyone! We made delicious and festive gingerbread cookies with our friend, Knotty Goods, this weekend. Here is a recipe using our chai blend:
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup molasses
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- Silky Chai blend (finely ground)
Use hand mixer to cream butter and sugar. Add egg, molasses, ground ginger, baking soda, salt and our chai blend until smooth.
Remove the dough from the bowl, wrap it and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Roll the dough out to .25 inch thickness and cut out cookies using any festive cookie cutters you have (in our case -- we have mittens, reindeer and candy cane cookie cutters!)
Lastly, bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Let it cool for 3 minutes and it'll be ready to decorate. Have fun and enjoy!
